Alberta Waterfowl Hunts

Within a 60 mile (100km) radius of McLennan, Alberta on Kimiwan Lake in the heart of the Peace Country is the area you’ll be hunting. The natural junction of the wetlands and the mixed wooded region creates a popular flyway for migrating waterfowl which allows this region to be considered the Bird Capital of Canada. McLennan is surrounded by agriculture and the wheat, barley and pea crops provide the ideal setting and nutrients needed for the migrating ducks and geese. All this makes for very rich and diverse bird communities currently listing 233 species seen within 15 kms of Kimiwan lake. Migrating waterfowl are naive about decoys and blinds as they enter the Peace Country, which is where their migration begins to enter active hunting zones.

This outfitter has made McLennan their home base for ten years, they’ve developed good working relationships with the farmers in the area who welcome hunters due to the tremendous impact this many migrating geese and ducks have on their crops.
